Visitors to Landworks Farm were able to head home with fresh picked corn, among other vegetables. And it was excellent! In the farm stand there were several varieties of potatoes and tomatoes, onions, cabbage, squash, broccoli and carrots.
There was a small, but interested crowd that came for the Open House, or really the Open Farm Tours today. During the inspection of the fields it was clearly evident that the amount of food grown in such a small space is astounding. The paste tomatoes aren’t ripe yet, but when they are it’ll be worth a special trip to get enough to make your own spaghetti sauce. The onions, great big ones were being harvested and moved to the greenhouse to dry.
The farm tours provided visitors one opportunity to celebrate conservation of Landworks Farm and see what’s growing. If you weren’t able to come but would like to see the farm, please get in touch to arrange a visit.
